Junior Katie G. recently earned the designation of U.S. Figure Skating gold medalist.
This recognition is given after a skater passes their senior free skating test, which is one of the top achievements in U.S. Figure Skating and the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication to the sport. According to the United States Figure Skating Association, in a typical year, 40,000 U.S. Figure Skating test levels are completed by athletes; of those, only about three percent are at the gold or senior level.
Katie has been training in Dallas, Texas with world class figure skating coaches since June 2017 and will return to Porter's for the spring semester.
