Kevin Adorno Memorial Ride and Festival Taking Place This Weekend
The ride and festival will honor the life and legacy of Adorno, who was killed in an attack in Florida just 140 miles from his destination.

Bike Friendly Farmington will present the first Kevin Adorno Memorial Ride and Festival.
Farmington native Adorno was an adventurer who had backpacked Europe, toured the country by car and biked the entire East Coast. He was killed in an attack by a homeless man in Florida on Sept. 1, 2014. He was 140 miles from his end destination in Miami.
The ride and festival will take place on May 2. There will be 28 and 50-mile bicycle rides, a 5K trail run and the festival with many kid and family-friendly activities.

He was the owner of Bevy Productions and Media as well as My Pencil Portraits, where he demonstrated his incredible artistic abilities.
“We are proud to be working with the friends and family of Kevin Adorno to present this event, especially as a kick-off celebration for National Bike Month in May,” said Ron Goralski, chairman of Bike Friendly Farmington. “Kevin Adorno’s spirit of adventure represents the best that our community has to offer, and his memory should serve as a constant reminder that life should be lived and experienced as fully as possible.”

Goralski added, “The Kevin Adorno Memorial Ride and Festival is a great way for all members of our community to support our town’s bicycle friendly activities, become more active in their own personal lives, and commemorate the life of a kind and gentle adventurer.”
Proceeds will benefit the Kevin Adorno Memorial fund and Bicycle Friendly Farmington.
The Kevin Adorno Memorial Fund’s initial mission is to carry on Kevin’s legacy by completing his 140 mile ride from Vero Beach to Miami. In the future, the Fund will support Farmington Valley residents in a variety of other ways to carry forward Kevin’s love of sports, adventure, and art – such as granting scholarships to Farmington High School students in the upcoming years.
