LETTER: Re-elect Peter Mastrobattista to Farmington Town Council
Letters are strictly the opinion of the author, and do not necessarily reflect the views of Farmington Patch.

I urge you to re-elect Peter Mastrobattista to the Farmington Town Council next week in the first district. I’ve known Peter and his family for twenty years. Peter and his family have been active participants in the Farmington community for multiple generations. Peter brings intelligence and a strategic mindset to the board. He also has a thorough knowledge of the town and its history. As a business owner and operator Peter also has a comprehensive knowledge of finance, budgets and economic development. As the former Chair of the Farmington Town Council, I recognize the huge value that Peter brings to the current council.
Peter and I served together as volunteers in the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Within the department, as a Chief Officer, Peter helped to manage the functions of the department. He also served on numerous capital committees where new apparatus was specified, priced and equipped. Much of this equipment is still in service to the residents of the town. His insight has proven to be extremely valuable to the delivery of emergency services in town. Further, he is an excellent leader.
Peter has been a big contributor to the existing Town Council. He currently Chairs the Open Space Committee in town whose responsibility it is to prioritize and manage the due diligence surrounding open space purchases for the town. Farmington residents value the town’s history of intelligent open space purchasing and Peter has been instrumental in helping to guide this important committee. Peter also serves as a liaison to the Town Planning and Zoning Commission for the Town Council.
