LETTER: Supporting Bruce Charette In Farmington
Opinions expressed are those of the letter writer and do not necessarily reflect the views of Patch Media. Opposing viewpoints are welcomed.

On Tuesday, November 5, I am asking you to join me in voting for Bruce Charette for Chair of Farmington’s Town Council and for all the Democratic candidates on Row A on the ballot.
As the current Vice Chair of the Town Council, Bruce Charette has served us exceptionally well, over the last two years. Farmington would benefit greatly if we elect Bruce as Chair of our Town Council -- so that he can continue to stand up for Farmington taxpayers and for preserving our Town’s high quality of life, town services for our seniors, education and environment.
As the current Vice Chair of the Farmington Town Council, Bruce has stemmed the tide of large property tax increases that we experienced, in the past. He's undertaken a line-by-line analysis of the town budget to find cost savings and has helped made town government more transparent and accountable to taxpayers so we know how our money is being spent.

As Town Council Chair, Bruce will continue to hold the line on taxes, implement and improve the competitive bidding standards to capital projects and plan responsibly to address our ongoing infrastructure needs. During the last two years, with his Democratic majority colleagues on the Council he has worked hard to find ways to save money in our town budget, by executing line-by-line analyses of our spending. He has led the Town Council’s unified adoption of a competitive bidding/designs process to ensure that we do not pay more than what we have to, for quality services and products.
Leading our town will require strategic thinking to balance competing priorities. That's why I believe Bruce Charette is the right person for the job, at this critical juncture. He has the work ethic, the experience as a long-time manager for CIGNA and the collaborative bipartisan credentials to serve our community well.

Whether you are raising a young family in town, or you're running a small business, or you're a retiree, I know Bruce will look out for all of us. That’s his record.
Please vote for Bruce Charette and all of the Democrats on Row A on your ballot on Tuesday, November 5.
