Why is it important to send a candidate to Congress who has experience in representing people and solving problems while having served in elected office?
Because the stakes have never been higher. That's why we need someone who knows what she's doing and can get things done more quickly.

What does experience even mean? Experience means sitting down with a mayor, or a small business, or a single mom and knowing pretty quickly the things that can be done to help them or to at least make their problem better than it was before. Experience means knowing which federal agency to call to help resolve the issue or knowing from which agency to seek federal funding to bring back to Connecticut. Experience means knowing which Republican to approach to introduce legislation on an important issue facing Connecticut that can get signed into law. Experience means not having to run to Senator Blumenthal or Senator Murphy continuously for help.
Now is not the time to send someone to Congress from Connecticut's 5th district who will need extra attention from more experienced elected officials to figure out how to get things done for us. Too many people's lives are hanging in the balance. It's critical that we have a Congresswoman who won't waste time, won't have to delay getting a response to a constituent because of inexperience, or won't even know how to get the answer. We need someone who's ready on Day 1. That's why we need Mary Glassman. A Democrat, Mary will work harder for us to solve problems and improve life for hard-working middle class families because she knows what she’s doing and as the former First Selectman of Simsbury, she got a lot done. I will be voting for Mary Glassman in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, August 14 and hope you will, too.
