Major Farmington Road to Be Closed Temporarily

Detours will be set up around Route 6.

FARMINGTON, CT — A portion of Route 6 in Farmington will be closed for a 13-hour stretch Saturday evening into Sunday morning, town officials said.

Beginning at 7 p.m., Scott Swamp Road will be closed in the area of New Britain Avenue, and will remain closed until 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

A detour will be in place, routing Route 6 westbound traffic south on New Britain Avenue to Hyde Road to Spring Lane and back onto Route 6. Eastbound traffic will be detoured onto Spring Lane to Hyde Road to New Britain Avenue and back onto Route 6.

Access for ConnectiCare employees will be allowed via the Spring Lane end of the closure., Police Lt. Patrick Buckley said.
