Major Mall in Farmington/West Hartford Announces New Leader

FARMINGTON/WEST HARTFORD, CT — One of Connecticut's largest shopping malls has a new leader in charge, according to mall owners on Wednesday.

The WestFarms Mall, located in Farmington and West Hartford, announced the recent appointment of Elizabeth Ryan as the new general manager at the mall.

She started work in June and, once, worked for the mall 20 years ago as its director of marketing.

A Connecticut native and University of Connecticut graduate, Ryan has overseen several shopping center openings and expansions, working for "luxury properties" in San Jose, Calif., and King of Prussia, Pa.

In addition, she was the general manager of The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk in South Windsor and at The Shoppes at Buckland Hills in Manchester, respectively.

“Westfarms has always been an exceptionally special shopping center to me. It is renowned for its exclusive offerings and vibrant atmosphere, and I am honored to be back at this iconic shopping destination,” said Ryan.

Westfarms features anchor stores Nordstrom, Macy’s and JCPenney as well as 160 retailers and restaurants.
The mall is located at the intersection of Interstate 84 and Route 9.
