Major Mayhem Expected At Farmington Rotary Pegged For Repaving: FPD
The Farmington Police Department is urging motorists to, simply, stay away from the busy rotary on Friday.
FARMINGTON, CT — Locals looking to navigate a busy rotary in Farmington Friday might want to think again.
That's because the Farmington Police Department this week announced that daytime paving will commence at the South Road/Two Mile Road rotary on Friday, Nov. 10.
This, police said, will result in a mishmash of motorized misery for commuters, with police urging folks to simply avoid the area Friday.

"Significant delays are expected and motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the area," wrote the FPD.
Work is expected to last Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., police said.

As a result, police said they will implement multiple detours and road closures associated with the paving project.
They include:
• South Road at Munson Road will be closed to southbound traffic.
• The Two Mile Road rotary entrance will be closed, with traffic detoured to Batterson Park Road to Robin Road and then onto South Road.
• As the job progresses, the Two Mile Road detour will be "reversed," police said, with South Road detouring to Robin Road to Batterson Park Road and, then, Two Mile Road.
• The Colt Highway (Route 6) will remain open.
• Traffic will be alternating through the rotary.
• Detour signs and police will be there to direct traffic.
Of course, the best way to avoid the confusion and traffic mess is to, simply, avoid the area Friday, which police said is the only day planned for work.
"The extended work hours will allow the paving to be completed in one day, minimizing the overall inconvenience to motorists," police said.
