Burgos, police said, was stabbed in the leg multiple times and had non-life-threatening injuries after being rushed to an area hospital Sunday afternoon.
In addition, three 15-year-old juvenile girls were charged in the incident, including the suspect police said stabbed Burgos in the leg.
Those three, whose names were not released because of their age, were also charged with breach of peace, with the stabbing suspect also charged with first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.
The trio of 15-year-olds is now in the juvenile court system, police said.
Farmington police said two of the juvenile suspects fled into the adjacent woods and were later captured, with responding officers providing first aid to Burgos.
Police said a group of mostly juveniles came to the Westfarms Mall for a fight, with the group gathering at the sparsely populated upper-level parking garage.
According to the FPD, Burgos began fighting a 15-year-old female, and, during the fight, while other juvenile attendees were recording the brawl with their phones, the 15-year-old suspect retrieved a pocketknife from her pocket.
Police said the young teen then stabbed Burgos multiple times in the leg before fleeing the scene with her accomplice.
Ultimately, police said four suspects were identified as the "primary aggressors" in the brawl.
Mall officials, meanwhile, thanked the police for their quick response to Sunday's incident, calling it an "isolated incident."
“The safety and security of our customers and employees is our first priority. This isolated incident is unacceptable conduct and undermines our family-friendly standards at Westfarms," said Westfarms spokesperson Amanda Sirica in a statement.
"We thank the police and security that acted swiftly to restore normal operating conditions in our parking lot. We continue to actively assist the Farmington police investigation into this matter."
