Man Charged With Burglarizing Cars in Farmington

A sting operation by police led to the man's arrest on charges of breaking into cars.

FARMINGTON, CT — A series of complaints about car burglaries in Tunxis Mead Park led police to set up a sting operation that led to the arrest of a Barkhamsted man last week.

Officers placed a decoy purse inside a vehicle in the park, and shortly thereafter, a man later identified as Patrick McManamy broke into the vehicle and stole the purse, police said.

McManamy also admitted he had broken into other cars, police said.
