2 Killed, 3 Injured in Farmington Head-On Crash
Route 6 was closed while an accident-reconstruction team worked at the scene, police said.

FARMINGTON, CT — Two people were killed and three others sustained serious injuries in a head-on crash late Thursday night on Route 6 in Farmington. The two-vehicle crash took place around 11:45 p.m. on Colt Highway, approximately 2/10-mile east of Reservoir Road. Upon arrival, police officers located five injured adults who were treated on scene by police, East Farmington and Farmington firefighters and AMR Ambulance personnel, Lt. Colin Ryan said.
All five victims were transported by ambulance to three area hospitals with serious injuries. One male was pronounced dead at John Dempsey Hospital shortly after being transported from the scene. A second person later died of injuries sustained, Lt. Patrick Buckley said
The status of the other accident victims is unknown at this time, Ryan said.The names of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin, Ryan said.

Route 6 was closed from Fienemann Road to the Route 10 connector and was expected to remain closed until approximately 5 a.m. while the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad conducted an investigation, Ryan said.
