Otis was able to hack away Trump's name and the logo indicating the star had been awarded in the category of television — for Trump's work on "The Apprentice." He left the pickax at the scene of the damage.

Otis, who said he originally intended to remove the entire star, auction it off in New York and give the money to the nearly dozen women who allege they were groped or sexually mistreated by the presidential candidate and former reality TV star, is an heir to the Otis Elevator Company, headquartered in Farmington, according to the Bristol Roundup, KABC-TV, International Business Times and heavy.com.

In the past few months, 11 women have claimed Trump groped or otherwise sexually assaulted them. For his part, Trump insists the claims are all false and that he plans to sue them once the election is over.

“The reason that I did it was because of the amount of sexual assaults that not only my own family has experienced but that the many women that Donald Trump has done this too, ” Otis said on a video released by TMZ via YouTube shortly before his arrest.
