The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Traffic is a challenge here in Unionville and Farmington. I’m committed to engaging with all town residents and town administration and staff -- as well as the State of Connecticut to work together to better ease traffic congestion. I want to work collaboratively on the prospect of a third bridge as a potential solution for our traffic congestion.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
My professional background in budget management and capital planning and cost control will be key skills for the Town Council. I also pledge to work collaboratively with other local government and regional & state authorities on the prospect of a third bridge to help ease traffic congestion.
Accomplishments:
My involvement with town government began when my children entered Farmington Public Schools. I attended Town Council budget meetings, Board of Education meetings, and PTO meetings. I listened to the issues and challenges around infrastructure, traffic and development. I stepped up, gave my feedback and made suggestions, and and actively advocated for critical building projects and community services. These accomplishments taught me the importance of engaging community members to help them stay informed about the critical issues our town faces.
Other issues:
Low taxes will always be a high priority for me on the Town Council. I want to hold the line on taxes. Simple as that. I manage my family budget and understand prices are rising for goods and services. I want to make sure our taxes stay competitive with surrounding towns, while continuing to provide high quality schools and services our residents expect.
Given the increase in car theft and crime that many towns like Farmington have witnessed during the pandemic, we need to listen to our law enforcement partners and give them the resources they need to keep our neighborhoods, homes, and families safe.
Development is an issue that needs to be sensibly managed. While development can help keep our taxes lower, we need to balance it with maintaining the character and quality of our town. I’m a collaborative, and thoughtful and independent person. I want to find the best solution for you.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
Farmington is my home. There is no other community in which I’d rather live and raise my family. I’m a collaborative, thoughtful and independent person. I want to keep Farmington a great place to live, work, own a business, and and raise a family.
