Mommy Mixer held at SOMA Movement Studio

Moms from all over Central Connecticut gathered at SOMA Movement Studio in Unionville Center for an evening of makeovers and shopping.

Moms from all over Central Connecticut gathered in Unionville Center at SOMA Movement Studio for an evening of socializing, refreshments, shopping and makeovers. Over thirty vendors and distinguished guests assembled at the historical Depot West building which houses both the boutique mind-body fitness studio and Farmington Valley Physical Therapy who co-sponsored the event.

The event which was held on Saturday evening, November 5th from 6-9 pm attracted some leaders in the Central Connecticut Mom Community including:

  • Mom-Friendly Web Calendar and Social Media publishers like Angelina Capalbo of Momford County (www.momfordcounty.com) and Sarah Catalayud of HulaFrog (www.hulafrog.com)
  • Authors Deborah Ann Davis and Catherine Gibson who also hosts a children's television show
  • Academicians like Jackie Coyne who is both a professor emeritus of Early Childhood Education at Tunxis Community college and Yoga Instructor who spoke about Mindfulness and Yoga for Children
  • Artists like Visceral Movement Dance Company director Ally Davis
  • Mom-centric service providers like Lisa Brilliant Alexander whose business development service helps moms become mom-preneurs, creating more flexibility and freedom in their life through business ownership

In addition to the distinguished guests, there were also a hand-selected group of vendors and crafters providing glamorous services like make up demos by Beauty Entourage of Farmington and facials by L'OCCITANE of Westfarms Mall. There were crafters like The Gentle Giraffe who brought handmade clothing and toys for infants as well as J & J Apothecary with organic bath and body products and popup boutiques by trendsetters LuLaRoe and Swarovski, and much more.

"The best part about this event was the people who came, both as guests and vendors," said Farmington Valley Physical Therapy Physical Therapist and owner Bogusia Badon. "I love events like this because they bring together so many interesting people in the community. I can't wait for the next one!"
