Moms to be in the Hartford area - we would like to learn from you

Study on pregnancy compensates up to $400 for your time.

Compensation for your time up to $400 if eligible. Study is conducted online and over the phone. $100 for first visit (2 hours).

This study is looking to answer this question:

What are the effects of vaping e-cigs compared to smoking regular cigarettes during pregnancy?

This is an observational only study, meaning there are no requests to change your smoking or vaping habits.

You may be eligible if you:
- Are at least 16 years old
- Are currently pregnant

AND one of the following:
- Currently smoke cigarettes everyday OR
- Currently use an electronic cigarette or vaping device everyday OR
- Use both products

If you take part in the study, you will be asked to:
- Attend up to 3 visits online and over the phone, pending your due date, approximately 12
weeks apart
- Complete brief monthly calls and one call 3 months after delivery

You may receive financial compensation up to $400 if eligible.

It’s $100 for the first visit (2 hours), $50 for remaining visits 2 and 3 (30 to 45 minutes each).

This study examines the effect of e-cigarette use compared to cigarette smoking during pregnancy on toxin exposure (nicotine and other harmful ingredients) in women and newborn babies, and on birth outcomes (birth weight and gestational age).

There is no drug testing in this study.
