All are welcome to join the Friends of Sessions Woods at their Annual Meeting at the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection Wildlife Division's Sessions Woods Conservation Education Center in Burlington! Beginning at 12:30 p.m., participants can bring sweets to share for a pre-presentation, potluck dessert extravaganza! At 1:00 p.m., the Friends of Sessions Woods will conduct a brief, 10-minute business meeting to elect officers before the featured presentation. Peter Picone, a CT DEEP Wildlife Division Habitat Program biologist, will provide an interesting and informative program on using native plants to benefit wildlife. He also will talk about plans to develop a rain garden at Sessions Woods. Special guests, Lisa and Kyle Turcozi from Earth Tones Native Plant Nursery, will be on hand to answer your questions about the wide variety of native shrubs and plants, including flowering plants that attract hummingbirds and butterflies, that will be available for sale. Earth Tones Native Plant Nursery was recently selected by Yankee Magazine as the Best Native Nursery. Please pre-register for this FREE program by calling the Sessions Woods office at 860-675-8130. The Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area is located at 341 Milford Street, in Burlington.
