Friday's program will include guest tours of the facility.

Simply put, this isn't your standard landlord-tenant type of office operation, definitely not Don Draper's office set-up (Mad Men).

This is a more appealing setup for independent contractors, for example.

According to BaseCamp, the office space includes private offices "for those seeking a secluded work environment."

In addition, there are dedicated desks for "a more personalized setup."

There are even so-called "hot seats" for those who are "on the go," but need a temporary spot to get work done.

"Positioned strategically in the heart of Farmington Valley, BaseCamp Coworking aims to serve as a central hub for collaboration and community-building among local businesses across Hartford County," wrote BaseCamp. "The co-working space is designed to foster innovation, networking, and a sense of belonging for professionals in the region."

BaseCamp officials said Farmington's location in central Connecticut is a good spot for its new operation.

"We are excited to introduce BaseCamp Coworking as a dynamic space where professionals can thrive, collaborate, and elevate their work experience," said Ryan Taylor, one of the founders of BaseCamp Coworking. "Farmington Valley is the perfect location for a co-working space, and we look forward to contributing to the growth and success of businesses in Hartford County."

Added Jamie Taylor, one of the founders, "Coworking spaces are effective and cost-saving due to their shared infrastructure, flexible membership plans, reduced overhead costs, networking opportunities, scalability, on-demand professional services, enhanced productivity, and access to a diverse business community."

The grand opening event on Friday also offers attendees a chance to work for free from the space on that day.
