No Fight Happened at Westfarms Mall: Police PIO
At least one media outlet incorrectly reported a large fight had taken place Monday night at the mall on the Farmington-West Hartford line.

FARMINGTON, CT — The public information officer for the Farmington Police Department has issued a statement regarding some misinformation that was reported by at least one media outlet about an alleged fight at the Westfarms Mall Monday night.
The erroneous report came on the heels of a large melee at the Buckland Hills Mall in Manchester, which involved several hundred people and resulted in eight arrests and closure of that shopping center around 6 p.m.
In an email to Connecticut media, Lt. Colin Ryan wrote,

"I know there was a reported fight at Buckland Hills Mall this evening and several media outlets have reached out to me after the fact requesting information on a fight at Westfarms Mall. I know at least one of you reported that there was a fight between 20-30 youths at Westfarms Mall. I did not release that information and upon looking into this and contacting Westfarms Mall directly, there was no fight that took place there tonight."
Ryan acknowledged police "did get dispatched there earlier for a large group of youths" but reiterated there was no fight.
