FARMINGTON, CT — Like most of us Farmington is about to enjoy a three-day holiday weekend.

And while most town and school offices are close Monday, Sept. 4, the holiday weekend will not impact trash collection locally.

Farmington Town Hall and other Farmington offices, as well as the school system, will return to normal hours on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

For local residents getting their trash collected by Waste Material Trucking Co., the town's contracted waste hauler, there will be no change in service next week due to the holiday.

"Carts must be placed at the curb the night before your normal collection day," wrote the town this week.
