Nonprofit Farmington Broadcaster Expands Its Offerings

FARMINGTON, CT — A locally-based nonprofit public access video services company has expanded offerings, officials announced recently.
Nutmeg TV, located at 9 Eastview Drive, Farmington, has announced it has launched a new, free, streaming platform called Nutmeg TV+ on the Roku and Apple TV streaming services.

The app can be downloaded on any Roku device including the Roku Smart TV lineup and the Roku Streaming Stick or Apple TV.
Roku has reported over 70 million monthly active users.

“For over 30 years, we’ve been the platform to inform, educate and connect our diverse set of
communities,” said Joanie Wedler, executive director / CEO of Nutmeg TV. “Nutmeg TV+
expands our Digital Town Green by offering viewers the ability to watch Nutmeg TV’s Public
Channel 24/7/365 wherever and whenever they want to watch it.”
Nutmeg TV has partnered with the TelVue Corp. to further expand digital distributions.
“TelVue’s cloud-based Content Management Services TelVue Connect and TelVue CloudCast
gives our team simple tools to manage our OTT offerings that work in parallel with our
Broadcast workflow,” said Chris Bennett, director of technology and production services at
Nutmeg TV.
“We continue to use this modern technology to break the boundaries of local public
programming and bring the community’s content to them anywhere, anytime, and on any
device.”
In addition to their Roku and Apple TV presence, Nutmeg TV expects to launch Nutmeg TV+ on
Android, iOS, and Amazon Fire TV in later this year.
Nutmeg TV continues to offer Video On Demand services of nearly 4,000 high-definition videos on YouTube and its website NutmegTV.com for free.
Nutmeg TV is a regional 501(c)(3) non-profit community access provider based in Connecticut and is a key broadcaster of public meetings of several Farmington Valley towns, including Bristol, New Britain, Farmington, Avon and Plainville, among other towns.
