Freshman Delaney Nwachukwu was nominated as one of the MaxPreps/Women's Basketball Coaches Association Players of the Week.
Delaney has contributed to Porter's varsity basketball team's successful start to the season, averaging 9.6 points, 7 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. She recorded a season best 21 points in the team's December 2 victory over Canterbury School.
The WBCA High School Player of the Week is presented to a deserving student-athlete in each of nine geographic regions of the country who demonstrated outstanding play throughout the week of play. Delaney was this week's winner for Region 1.
