The creation and dissemination of domestic propaganda by the government of These United States is now legal, can the Obama Jugend be far behind? Though I am not certain a League of Maidens would be Politically Correct nowadays.
You can't make this stuff up [not even the Onion or MAD Magazine]! And most Sheeple even if they were paying attention would not believe you. If you pushed the point and said NO TRULY READ THE LAW, they would call you a “conservative, wacco, tinfoil hatted, conspiracy theorist” [by the way where does one purchase tinfoil nowadays?] who hates Obama because of his race.
But I digress.
The fact that Sovereign Citizens of These United States are not outraged that their government has now made it legal for THE GOVERNMENT to produce and disseminate their propaganda domestically is just another data point in the Proof that many if not most Americans have truly become Sheeple. Just give me my free stuff, keep me “safe” from change or the “others” and I will do whatever you tell me to do!
But first a generally agreed upon definition of Propaganda. Propaganda is information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view [and at least in this context the propaganda originates from official government sources or straw sources at the behest of the government or agency thereof].
Since January 27, 1948, the terms under which the government of These United States could engage global audiences using propaganda was strictly limited and defined and there was a prohibition on the use of domestic propaganda [government sponsored, the Mainstream Media was free to drone on ad nauseum]. The original prohibiting legislation was the US Information and Educational Exchange Act of 1948, popularly referred to as the Smith–Mundt Act. The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013 amended the Smith–Mundt Act and the Foreign Relations Authorization Act of 1987, allowing for materials produced by the State Department and the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) to be released within U.S. borders thereby striking down a long-time ban on the dissemination of such material in the USA.
This change took effect on July 01, 2013. Ostensibly this change was needed to allow the State Department to target “at risk” immigrant communities here in the USA that might be the target of information / propaganda of foreign terrorist groups. But the law does not stop there, the change allows the government virtual Carte Blanche authority to MAKE STUFF UP AND LEGALLY TRY TO INFLUENCE Citizens who by right are the Sovereign authority of this country.
Couple this newly legal authority to use government propaganda to "influence" the people [oops should have said Sheeple] with the Obama Administration's Consortium of Behavioral Scientists or COBS members of which have been quoted in the NYT as stating that their techniques "trades on a human instinct to conform to social norms" you quickly have the parts for more than a Conspiracy Theory!
Edward Bernays and Paul Joseph Goebbels would be so proud of the COBS & the Progressive Collectivists currently inhabiting the White House. Recall that like BHO who yearns for a "fundamental transformation" of our Democratic Constitutional Republic which governs These United States, Goebbels famously stated that "We .. intend a principled transformation in the worldview of our entire society, a revolution of the greatest possible extent that will leave nothing out, changing the life of our nation in every regard ..."
For the three people who regularly read this blog, you already know what I am going to say next, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it and only the dead have seen the end of war." George Santayana was evidently correct.
Let me say that again, under the guise of fighting the Global War on Terrorism [which BHO says is over] our Congress made it “legal” for our Government to BULL S * * T the Citizens of this country. The Government can now legally [key change] tell you whatever they think they need to tell you in order to get you to do whatever they want you to do.
Representatives Larson and Courtney voted in favor of the change as did Senators Blumenthal and Lieberman. CT deserves so much better. Please consider this vote when you go to the polls next election.
