FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington officials are in the midst of seeking public input on what to do with a building in town that is at least sentimental, if not considered historic — the original 1928 section of Farmington High School.

Currently, town officials and the Farmington Town Council’s Ad-Hoc 1928 Building Committee are studying potential uses for the FHS Building, which is being replaced by a new school. Members of the public can file opinions as part of a survey, the deadline for which is prior to April 11 5 p.m.

Town officials are gauging whether residents have an appetite for saving the original FHS wing. One potential uses being bantered about is using the gym as a community center.

The ad-hoc committee wants to survey public before any formal decision is made.

The new school is being built to the right of the original building as one drives up the hill off Route 4.
