Police Investigating Smash-and-Grab Burglaries in Farmington
A pair of convenience stores were broken into within a 24-hour period, police said.

FARMINGTON, CT - Police are investigating a pair of early-morning smash-and-grab burglaries at convenience stores that occurred within a 24-hour span.
On Thursday around 1:52 a.m., the front door glass of the Exxon station at 6 Colt Highway was smashed, and the cash register was broken into, Lt. Colin Ryan said.
At 12:47 a.m. Friday, an unknown male suspect smashed the front door glass at the Henny Penny Sunoco at 989 Farmington Avenue, broke into the cash register and left on foot with an undetermined amount of money. A K-9 track was unsuccessful, indicating the suspect likely had parked a vehicle nearby, Ryan said.

Detectives are investigating both incidents. It is unknown at this time if the two incidents were perpetrated by the same suspect or suspects, Ryan said.
