Surveillance footage captured the entire scene, including a dramatic rescue of two children from a burning car.

FARMINGTON, CT — A surveillance video showing the exact moments of a mishap at a Main Street gas station Monday which resulted in a large fire has been released by police.

The late afternoon collision between an SUV and a gas pump resulted in damage to numerous vehicles. No injuries were reported.

The video shows what appears to be a small blue or gray SUV backing out of a parking space at the Citgo station at 282 Main Street. The vehicle slams into a gas pump, which falls onto a dark car, narrowly missing a woman who is filling the car's tank with gasoline.

The driver of the SUV, a man with either white or blonde hair, quickly gets out of his vehicle as the pump ignites into flames. The woman who had been pumping gas opens the rear driver's side door and pulls two children out of the car, then she and a man lead the youngsters to safety as the fire and smoke begin to intensify.

Within 45 seconds of impact, a thick cloud of black smoke covers all three visible lanes of pumps.
