Police Swarm Busy Mall To Detain Car Theft Suspects: PD
Officers from the Farmington, West Hartford, and Hartford police departments helped locate the quintet at the large shopping mall Saturday.

FARMINGTON/WEST HARTFORD, CT — Five juveniles are in custody after police had to swarm a busy mall Saturday afternoon to detain them in connection with a car theft report.
According to the Farmington Police Department, FPD officers were called at about 12:59 p.m. to the parking lot of the Westfarms Mall, which is located in Farmington and West Hartford, for a report of a stolen motor vehicle reported by the owner.
Police said arriving officers were able to recover the stolen motor vehicle and it was determined the suspects had entered the mall.

With the assistance of the West Hartford and Hartford police departments, all five suspects were found and taken into custody at the mall.
In addition, police recovered two handguns in connection with the investigation, police said.

"The investigation is still active. However, all of the arrestees are currently believed to be
juveniles," wrote the FPD in a release.
"Due to the age of those arrested, no further identifying information can be released at
this time."
