Porter's Swimming & Diving Places 2nd at NEPSAC Championships

Porter's varsity swimming and diving team earned second place at the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council’s Division II Championships, held Saturday, March 3 at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Sophomore Marissa C. won the 100 Breaststroke, breaking the NEPSAC DII record as well as the Roger WIlliams University pool record. She also came in second in the 200 Individual Medley. Maddy B. ’21 came in third place, both in the 200 and 500 Freestyle. The relay team of Avery M. ’19, Maddy B. ’21, Moira L.’19, and Marrisa C. ’20 also showed strong performances, earning second place in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay. In the diving competition, Miriam M. ’18 placed first and Ella W. ’20 placed fourth.

"I am very proud of the way our swimmers and divers represented Miss Porter’s School," notes Head Coach Katie Riccobon. "This year was extremely competitive and our girls did not shy away from the challenge."
