Presidents Day 2026 Impacts Announced In Farmington

Monday is Presidents Day, with towns and cities across Connecticut announcing multiple impacts on services.

FARMINGTON, CT — This Monday is Presidents Day, and several municipal impacts in town offices and schools have recently been announced.

In the Town of Farmington, all municipal departments will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of the holiday.

In addition, Farmington Libraries' facilities (Main Library and Barney) will also be closed that day, town officials said.

Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, Feb.17, at 8:30 a.m.

For residents who receive trash and recycling collection through the town’s contractor, Waste Material Trucking Co., there will be no change to your regular collection schedule.

Officials reminded residents that several town offices are transitioning to the new Farmington Town Hall location at 20 Monteith Drive.

That effort started Friday, Feb. 13, and will continue through Tuesday, Feb. 17.

"During this time, some in-person services may be temporarily limited. Residents are encouraged to call departments in advance with any questions before visiting," wrote the Town of Farmington.

Meanwhile, Farmington schools will be closed for Winter Recess on both Monday, Feb. 16, and Tuesday, Feb. 17.
