Questions To Ask About the Assisted Living Community Building

Make sure to ask the following questions with regard to the assisted living building:

·       Is the staff visible and available to residents?

·       Are the common areas clean and odor free?

·       Is it easy to find your way around the community?

·       Is there a long walk from the apartments to the dining room and other common areas?

·       Is there a safe and accessible outdoor area for walking and congregating?

·       Do residents use the common areas or does it appear that most of the residents stay in their apartments?

·       Do the bathrooms have accessible showers?

                        - Is there a built-in shower bench/chair?

                        - Are there grab bars in the shower?

·       Are there emergency pull-cords in the apartment?
