FARMINGTON, CT — No, there isn't a new sheriff in town — Farmington doesn't have those.

But there is a new law enforcer patroling the town's streets and roadways.

Last week, the Farmington Police Department officially swore in Officer Ryan DiFusco to join the ranks of the town's finest.

DiFusco has eight years of experience as a certified police officer, so he doesn't have to train at the state's police academy before hitting the beat.

The town welcomed him with a special swearing-in ceremony attended by many police and town officials.
