Rep. Demicco Earns Perfect Score on Environmental Issues
The Farmington Democrat is one of two legislators to receive a perfect score from the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters.

The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) has announced that the organization has given State Rep. Mike Demicco (D-21) a perfect score on his voting record for environmental issues during the 2014 legislative session.
According to CTLCV’s 2014 Environmental Scorecard, Demicco, who represents Farmington and Unionville, is one of only two state representatives with a lifetime score of 100%.
“This year we passed numerous pieces of legislation that will protect and preserve the natural assets we have in Connecticut,” Demicco said in a statement released by the CTLCV. “A clean and safe environment helps maintain a strong society where residents are healthy and businesses can achieve long-term smart growth in sustainable ways.”

The CTLCV released their 2014 Environmental Scorecard for the Connecticut State Legislature. The 15th annual release of such scores was bolstered by nearly 20 environmental bills that passed through the Connecticut General Assembly this year, providing an expanded base for scoring.
“In Mike’s first term, he has demonstrated a sincere commitment and to the environment and his record backs that up,” said Lori Brown, Executive Director of CTLCV. “We sincerely need more people like Mike Demicco who have strong environmental values to work with to pass pro-environment legislation.”
According to the League, by sharing how each member of the Legislature voted on the most critical conservation bills this year, CTLCV helps Connecticut voters better understand where their legislators stand when it comes to protecting the environment. The sheer number of bills that were voted on this year reflects how deeply environmental issues are ingrained in every aspect of Connecticut’s well-being, from public health and safety to the economy and growing jobs.
The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters is CT’s leading environmental watchdog organization, which works to pass pro-environment laws, elect pro-environment candidates, and hold all elected officials accountable.
