Wow...2 fabulous shows in our little city! "Book of Mormon" at the Bushnell is outrageous, inappropriate, blasphemous, and absolutely wonderful. Know that if you can get a ticket, you might be offended, you will probably be disgusted, and you'll be absolutely entertained. The talent on that stage, many of whom haven't yet had a Broadway gig, and for whom this might be the first tour, is amazing! Dancing, singing, acting - the score is so energetic and fun that you'll be singing those bad words right along with them! Definitely worth every penny you'll spend.
Around the corner, at Theaterworks, "The Other Place" will devastate you. What a story, what a performance by the lead, Kate Levy...watching her was an acting lesson in itself. I had her on my radio show a few weeks ago, and have to admit that she was one of the most intense actresses I've interviewed - very nice, but so intense. And when you see the show, you'll understand why. I don't want to give much away, but can assure you you won't leave unmoved..especially if you are dealing with the sad world of dementia within your family.
Off to "Bullets Over Broadway" on Wednesday, so I'll keep you posted! Ginny
