Route 4 In Farmington To Be Impacted By Paving Project
Work is slated to start Sunday, May 5, with delays possible through the middle of next week.
FARMINGTON, CT — A major state roadway will get new pavement starting Sunday, May 5, with motorists warned to be prepared for delays starting Sunday and lasting into next week.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation said a milling and resurfacing project on Route 4 in Farmington between Mountain Spring Road and South Road has already begun.
The night work schedule for this project is 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday).

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.92-mile segment of Route 4.
The milling of this project started last month and is now complete.

The resurfacing component of this project, however, is scheduled to start Sunday, May 5, and be done on Wednesday, May 8, state officials said.
The DOT said motorists can expect delays and one-lane alternating traffic.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
