Route 4 Summer Traffic Disruptions Announced

Residents and commuters should be aware of potential traffic delays in Farmington.

Several road construction/improvement projects are planned for Route 4 in Farmington this summer.

Residents and commuters should be aware of potential traffic delays that these projects will cause.

Here are the projects:

  • Route 4 bridge maintenance, near the intersections of River Road and Perry Street. Construction will be performed during the day-time, non-rush hours. Expect lane closures.
  • Route 4 bridge construction, at the intersection of Route 167 (West Avon Road) and Route 4. Construction will be performed during the day-time, non-rush hours. No lane closures are anticipated for this project.
  • Route 4 sewer and utility work from Garden Street to Mountain Spring Road. Construction will be performed during the night-time hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Expect lane closures.
  • Route 4 water main installation from High Street to Mountain Spring Road. Construction will be performed during night-time hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Expect Lane closures.
  • Route 177 (Lovely Street) paving beginning at Route 4 through Route 44 in Canton. Paving is expected to be performed during the day-time, non-rush hours. Expect lane delays on Route 4, and lane closures on Route 177.

Due to the extensive projects to improve our infrastructure along Route 4, motorists are asked to plan ahead and consider alternate routes to their destinations.
