FARMINGTON/WEST HARTFORD, CT — A prominent central Connecticut shopping destination will soon have a plethora of new places to shop and visit.

The Westfarms Mall, located in both Farmington and West Hartford, formally announced it is adding several new retailers this summer, including a first Connecticut location for Swiss chocolatier Läderach, as the shopping center continues to update its mix of stores and dining options.

The mall announced that Häagen-Dazs has opened a creamery in Center Court, marking the brand’s entrance into the greater Hartford market.

Pop Mart, a character-based entertainment and designer toy retailer, is also scheduled to open in summer on the lower level of the JCPenney wing.

Barnes & Noble is expected to open this summer on the lower level in the Macy’s wing. The 22,512-square-foot store will sell books, magazines, toys, games, music and gifts.

“We are proud of Westfarms continued growth to reimagine our offerings, and our ongoing commitment to both retailers and shoppers,” said Carolyn Edwards, general manager of Westfarms. “We remain focused on elevating the shopping experience by introducing new brands that complement our existing retailers.”

Several existing retailers are also expanding or remodeling.

Pandora is relocating next door to a larger space and is slated to open this month with a broader jewelry selection.

Foot Locker has reopened after a store remodel, while The North Face has moved to a redesigned upper-level space near Center Court.

Journeys is undergoing a remodel and is expected to reopen later this month. T-Mobile is scheduled to reopen its remodeled Nordstrom wing store in July.

“Remodels and expansions of existing stores are equally important, as they reflect a continued investment in Westfarms and enhance the shopper experience through refreshed spaces and broader offerings,” Edwards said.
