"Somewhere" and "Almost, Maine"

The new show at Hartford Stage, "Somewhere" touched me in so many ways.  It's not perfect, but it is really fulfilling, especially if you are a "West Side Story"/Broadway fan.  In addition, the mom is played by Pricilla Lopez, the playwright's aunt, who played Morales, and sang "What I did for Love" in the original "Chorus Line", which I saw my senior year in high school and which decided for me that NYC was the place to be!  While each of the characters could probably be more fully developed, they are so human, and the theme of strong family love is so strong...made me cry, which is a good thing when it comes to theater!  I'll be interviewing some of the cast this week on "SpotLight", so tune in or log on at 12:30 on Thursday (www.wliswmrd.net), and get yourself a ticket to see "Somewhere" at Hartford Stage sometime soon!

Tomorrow is our last performance of "Almost, Maine", up at ENO Hall in Simsbury - the audiences have been loving it, so, if you have some free time tonight or tomorrow afternoon, and want some laughs and warm fuzzy feelings, come on up and join us!  www.theatreguildsimsbury.org.
