State Representative Mike Demicco 21st District receives ARC Connecticut Advocacy Award

State Representative Mike Demicco 21st district received the Peg Dignoti Advocacy Award at the ARC Connecticut 64th Annual Business Meeting held on November 1st at Farmington Gardens.

ARC Connecticut is an advocacy organization committed to protecting the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to promoting opportunities for their full inclusion in the life of their communities.

Joe Duffy, Parent Leader of ARC of CT applauded Demicco as one of the top legislators belonging to the special bi-partisan caucus for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Duffy stated, “Mike Demicco truly understands the needs and is a tireless advocate of our community. He practices politics with a heart and soul. His character is based on principles which are nourished by his conviction that every constituent deserves to be treated with dignity.”

Of the award, Demicco said, “I am humbled and grateful to ARC CT for recognizing my commitment in helping to promote good public policy for our disabled community.”
