UPDATE: Burning Building Partially Collapses In Farmington: FD
Local firefighters are battling the blaze off Route 6, according to police.

FARMINGTON, CT — A busy section of town was closed as emergency personnel tended to a structure fire in Farmington, one that reportedly caused a partial building collapse.
Details of the fire are still few, but the Farmington Police Department said Scott Swamp Road (Route 6) was closed due to the blaze, but it did reopen later in the afternoon.
Police said Route 6 was closed midday between Camp Street and Plainville Avenue (Route 177), with motorists urged to seek alternative routes of travel.

At about 3 p.m., Farmington police said the road had reopened.
According to WVIT Channel 30, the building on fire was close to the Bristol town line, with the Bristol Fire Department providing mutual aid.

The building, WVIT reported, has also partially collapsed.
According to the Bristol Fire Department, which posted images of the blaze on social media Thursday afternoon, several BFD units responded.
"Crews on the scene quickly began their attack, but were forced to withdraw and begin defensive operations as portions of the building began to collapse," wrote Bristol firefighters.
Scott Swamp Rd. (Rt. 6) has fully reopened.
