Support For the Farmington Endorsed Republicans
The endorsed candidates gave citizens a chance to vote on the high school and respect the decision. The challengers offer nothing new.
Isn't it strange that the Farmington republicans who are challenging the endorsed candidates have built a campaign around the defeat of the Farmington High School building plan?
One of them, Jon Landry, a current member of the Town Council, voted to deny the town's citizens a chance to vote on the proposal. He would not have given 18,816 registered voters a chance to express their opinion at the polls. We would not know that 5029 people were against the plan, while 2411 supported the project.
To their credit, the rest of the Council took the democratic route, the Farmington route, and allowed the citizens, not "the establishment," to decide whether to build a new high school.
Now the challengers interpret the rejection of the FHS plan as a vote against the current Town Council while offering no specific proposals that would improve the quality of life in this superbly managed town with its low taxes, excellent schools, and plentiful public services, nor any clear plan to fix the high school building.
I'm supporting the endorsed candidates Meredith Trimble, Gary Palumbo, and Peter Mastrobattista who gave us a chance to vote, and Bill Wadsworth who, with the other three has devoted so much of his time to the welfare of Farmington.
