Senior Sydni S. will join the Division I track and field program at Columbia University next year.
Sydni signed her national letter of intent at a ceremony held in her honor on Wednesday, April 11. Co-Director of Athletics Avi Dubnov, introduced Sydni and spoke about her athletic accomplishments.
“Sydni is not just track and field, she has achieved so much,” shares Coach Dubnov. “For those who don’t know, she had a huge impact on the soccer program as well. She scored a hat trick on her debut and the winning goal for the first-ever Founders League Championship for the soccer team. Sydni has clearly left a legacy at this school in athletics.”
Sydni spoke briefly and expressed her gratitude for her family, teammates, friends, and the Porter's community.
Sydni is a four-year member of the varsity soccer team and the track and field team. She has broken the Miss Porter's School record for the long jump four times, the triple jump twice, and the 100m, and currently holds the school record in all three events. She is also a three-time Founders League champion in the long jump.
