The Silo Restaurant Demolished

Family restaurant was brought down Monday to make way for new CVS building.

, owned and operated for the past 50 years by the Santorso family, has seen hundreds of celebrations and moments special to residents and to the town of Farmington.

The restaurant, which stood on the corner of Route 10 and Scott Swamp Road, was demolished Monday to make way for a new CVS store. The store will have a drive-through for prescription pickups and final details of the site plan were approved by the Town Plan and Zoning Commission Feb. 22.

The commission April 20, 2011 but a group of neighbors appealed. A court recently ruled the project could go forward.

According to the Farmington Assessor's website, the property sold for $1.8 million at the end of 2011.
