Three Day Significant Snowstorm Possible for Farmington

The National Weather Service is predicting it’s possible that we could receive snowfall for three days straight

It’s possible that it could snow to some extent beginning late Saturday and into Tuesday, according to the weather’s service Hazardous Weather Outlook statement.

But there are so many variables and uncertainties about this forecast.

“Really, really challenging forecast for Sunday and Monday. Several chances for snow but I wouldn’t be surprised if the bulk of it held off until Monday. At this point all we can really say is “stay tuned” - we should know much more tomorrow,” said Ryan Hanrahan, who is a NBC Connecticut meteorologist. Hanrahan wrote his comments on social media.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 30 percent chance of snow on Saturday in Tolland County. The chance for snow increases to 50 percent for Saturday night.

Snow chance increases slightly to 60 percent for Sunday and 70 percent for Monday.

In the National Weather Service’s Hazardous Weather Outlook it cautions residents to be on the alert for patchy black ice as temperatures plummet quickly.
