Trash Collection Delays Expected In Farmington

The delays are due to the shortened, holiday weeks this week and next week.

Town of Farmington

FARMINGTON, CT — Town officials have recently announced how local trash collection will be impacted by the shortened holiday weeks this week and next.

For Farmington residents who have trash and recycling collection by the town's contractor (Waste Material Trucking Co.), there will be a one-day delay in the trash and recycling collection during the week of Christmas (Dec. 25-30) and the week of New Year's (Jan. 1-6, 2024).

Since both holidays fall on a Monday, normal collection days will be delayed one day with Friday's normal collection day to be picked up on Saturday.

All carts must be placed at the curb the night before the normal collection day or no later than 5 a.m. of the collection day or residents run the risk of missing collection and having to wait until the following week.
