Tunxis Inducts Business Students into KBD National Honor Society
Students honored reside in Bristol, Burlington, Collinsville, New Britain, Plainville, Plantsville, Southington, Thomaston, Unionville, West
The Delta Beta chapter of Kappa Beta Delta (KBD) honor society at Tunxis Community College inducted 23 business students and honorary members during a ceremony at Tunxis on November 16.
KBD was established to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment in the pursuit and completion of studies in business. To be eligible for induction, students must have completed 30 credit hours toward their associate degree and have attained a minimum GPA of 3.5 or better.

Tunxis director of student activities Christopher LaPorte, and former TCC staff member and business program alumna Katherine Ford-Droney, were also inducted as honorary members.
Kappa Beta Delta member institutions are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) to recognize the accomplishments of students in two-year business programs who are pursuing associate degrees. KBD also encourages students to promote personal and professional improvement and to lead a life distinguished by honorable service to mankind.
Since its founding in June 1997, Kappa Beta Delta has been affiliated with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs. The business program at Tunxis Community College received its initial ACBSP accreditation in 2009 and received its KBD chapter in 2015.
Tunxis Community College’s business administration program includes an associate degree with accelerated, online options that transfer to UConn, the Connecticut State Universities, and Charter Oak State College. Career certificates are also available in accounting, business administration, finance, and marketing.
