Two Eighth Grade Boys Heading to PGA Junior League Nationals
Farmington eighth graders, John Guerrera and Cullen Laberge, are headed to Arizona to play in the PGA Jr League National Finals in November.
Two eighth grade students from Farmington are headed to the PGA Junior League National Golf Championships. Cullen Laberge and John Guerrera will represent the Suzy Whaley Golf All Star Team as Team Connecticut at Grayhwak Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 19-21. John and Cullen will join 8 teammates to compete against the nation’s best teams.
The Suzy Whaley Golf PGA Junior League All Star team was the winner at the PGA Junior League Regional Championships in Cape Cod on September 17-18th with a 3-0 record over three other teams from Pennsylvania, New York and New Hampshire. The team won their Sub Region with a 5-0 match record against teams from Connecticut and Massachusetts over the previous 6 weeks.

The Team, coached by Captain Suzy Whaley and Coach Jim Bunel, is headed to the National Championships for a 3rd consecutive year. Only 8 teams qualify for the National Championship every year out of more than 2,700 teams nationally and only 80 junior golfers qualify out of more than 36,000 nationally.
