FARMINGTON, CT — UConn Health is seeking volunteers for a research study examining the effects of flavors on smoking filtered cigars in young adults.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Those who are 18 to 34 years old
  • Those who currently smoke both cigarettes and little cigars or cigarillos
  • Those who do not intend to quit within the next three-to-four weeks
  • Those who own a cell phone with a data plan

Those taking part in the study, you will be asked to:

  • Attend four sessions at UConn Health
  • Answer brief surveys on an app every day for three weeks
  • Smoke filtered cigars provided by the study (for free) in place of the usual brand for about two weeks

Participants may receive up to $300 in financial compensation.
