The Stanley-Whitman House holds the first of its Wednesday lunchtime lecture series on February 12 on "The Farmington Slavery Project", followed by an April 4 talk on "The Mysterious Photograph Album". The Hill-Stead Museum presents First Sunday Gallery talks. Subject range from a particular painting or decorative piece to a tour of the cellar. The next Sunday Gallery talk will be March 2 at 1 p.m., on "Alfred Pope's Career: A Midwestern Iron Industrialist and the Connecticut Connections". The April 6 talk will be on "Rug Hooking & Craft as a Pathway to Work in Early 20th Century Farmington".

The Lewis Walpole Library, in collaboration with the Farmington Libraries, will hold an evening lecture by curator John Cooper on its current exhibition "Emma Hamilton Dancing" on April 3 starting at 7:00 p.m. Registration is required.

The Farmington Public Libraries' offerings also include the next Director's College Lecture on Wednesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. when Jeffrey Kaimowitz will read from his translation of "The Odes of Horace" and speak about Horace. Registration is required.

Although the Unionville Museum does not have a lecture scheduled between now and April, they are busy preparing for the upcoming exhibit to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Union School and have put out a call for loans and donations of memorabilia related to the school such as class photos, textbooks, trophies, prizes, report cards and uniforms.
