Veterans Day Ceremony Planned In Farmington

It will take place outside at Farmington Town Hall late Saturday morning.

FARMINGTON, CT — Those looking to remember the impact of military veterans in Farmington can do so Saturday morning, Nov. 11.

Town officials announced this week that they and area veterans groups will host a short Veterans Day ceremony at Farmington Town Hall, located at 1 Monteith Drive.

The event will take place in front of the Veterans Memorial Monument outside at 11 a.m.

Veterans Day started out as "Armistice Day" on Nov. 11, 1919, to commemorate the end of World War I a year prior.

It has evolved into Veterans Day honoring all military veterans and Nov. 11 became a national holiday in 1938.
