FARMINGTON, CT — A bear was spotted on video snacking on a pumpkin that was left on the front porch of a Farmington home.
The video as seen in the Neighbors app was posted Saturday and shows the bear casually stroll onto the front porch before turning the pumpkin into a tasty treat.
Black bears have become a more common sight in Connecticut during recent years.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection recommends that residents remove birdfeeders and secure any potential food sources. Bears have no problem snacking on trash, barbeque grill leftovers, compost and pet food.

In most situations bears will wander back to more secluded areas and they can often be scared away by loud noises. Bears were spotted more than 8,000 times in 2018. Sightings can be reported to DEEP.
