Video: Farmington Police Seek Engagement Ring Thief
Police are seeking the public's help to find a man who reportedly stole a diamond engagement ring from Kay Jewelers at the Westfarms Mall.

Farmington Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who reportedly stole a diamond engagement ring from Kay Jewelers in the Westfarms Mall.
The incident occurred Nov. 10, according to Lt. Colin Ryan, police spokesman. Several witnesses chased the suspect, who fled into the mall parking lot. They reported that the man pointed a small black handgun at one of the people chasing him and fled into a neighborhood across from the mall.
Police searched with a K-9 team, but didn’t have luck. It is believed that the suspect was picked-up a short distance from the mall.

The suspect didn’t show the weapon while inside Kay Jewelers or imply that he had one, Ryan said.
The suspect is described as a white, possibly Hispanic male between 23 and 29-years-old. He is between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 and weighs about 150 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black pullover jacket with a white or grey horizontal stripe across the chest with a half vertical zipper in the center. He was also wearing dark jeans, red sneakers and a dark baseball cap with a red-colored Boston Red Sox “B” on it.
